One Month Married: Forever to go
July 25th, 2025 — the day I married my best friend. I still can’t believe it’s already been one month since that perfect blur of happy tears, laughter, and dance floor chaos. Everyone tells you your wedding day goes by in a flash, and they were right — but looking back now, I remember the small details just as vividly as the big ones.
From getting ready with my girls, to saying “I do,” to the quiet moments Josh and I snuck away just to breathe it all in… it truly was the day my dreams became reality.
The Morning with My Girls
We started early — champagne in hand, stories flowing, and a whole lot of nostalgia as we laughed (and teared up) over memories from different chapters of my life. Having my best friends from different parts of my world come together in one room — with no drama, just fun — made me realize how lucky I am to have such a supportive, tight-knit circle.
Surprisingly, I was calm most of the morning. That is, until the final moments — finishing my hair, about to slip into my dress. The nerves hit me all at once: the emotions, the thoughts, the excitement, the anxiety. But the second I looked in the mirror, in my dress, everything felt surreal. This was it. This was the day.
The First Look
Walking to Josh for our first look, my stomach was full of butterflies. But as soon as he turned around and we held hands, all of my nerves melted away. It felt right, it felt comfortable, it felt like home. Spending forever with him didn’t feel scary — it felt exactly how it should.
Walking Down the Aisle
As guests started arriving, the nerves came rushing back. My chest was heavy, I felt out of breath, and I had to take deep, grounding breaths with my dad before walking out. Watching my girls head down the aisle ahead of me, I had this wave of gratitude — and then, it was my turn.
I’ll admit, I blacked out a little in those moments. But as soon as I was standing at the altar, holding Josh’s hands, everything slowed down again. I noticed the smiles in the crowd, my cousin officiating us with the perfect mix of humor and heart, and of course, Teddy sitting front row in his little tux — the cutest wedding guest of all.
And because Josh and I met at a bar, we had to honor our story. Before sealing the deal the traditional way, we took a shot together at the altar. Totally unexpected, everyone laughed, and it was one of my favorite personal touches of the entire day.
From cocktail hour to the very last song, the reception was everything I dreamed of. Every detail came to life: the custom cocktail napkins, the specialty drinks, the centerpieces, the lighting, the linens. All of the DIY projects — the signage, favors, seating chart, phone booth, flowers — looked exactly how I envisioned. For a moment, I stood in the middle of the room, just breathing it all in. After months of planning, stressing, and perfecting, it was finally here — and I got to enjoy it.
One Month Later
One month later, I’m still soaking it all in. Life feels back to “normal” now — no wedding planning, no last-minute Amazon packages, no seating chart stress. Just the gym, date nights, home-cooked dinners, and our little family of three.
Now we get to enjoy the memories together — flipping through our photos, listening to our guestbook recordings, and reliving the little details that made the day so us. They were right when they said it would fly by. I wish I could do that day over again a thousand times. But the memories — those stay forever.
